Jeff began his legal practice as an associate in the culturally rich San Francisco
office of Foley & Lardner, a national law firm offering interdisciplinary counsel.  While
serving their Commercial Litigation and Business Reorganization department, he
specialized in the field of corporate bankruptcy and worked on matters for Major
League Baseball, Ameriprise Financial, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Banta
Corporation, Voith Paper, the Industry Standard magazine, and San Jose Medical
Group.

Prior to beginning his legal career, Jeff attended the University of Minnesota Duluth
for undergraduate studies, and earned his Juris Doctorate and Masters of Business
Administration from the University of Minnesota Law School and Carlson School of
Management in 2000.

Jeff has also practiced in the area of securities litigation, commercial litigation, small
business management, personal bankruptcy, and personal injury.

Jeff is currently admitted to practice law in Minnesota and California.  He comes
from the Butwinick Furniture family, a Saint Paul fixture for over 60 years in downtown
Saint Paul.  He believes that his upbringing in a family business allows him a
special perspective into the needs, concerns, and strategic goals of his clients.  He
knows that clients' needs are as individual as the clients themselves, and that
success means work doesn't always stop at 5:00.
He frequently meets with clients
on evenings, weekends, and over the lunch hour
so that they don't need to take any
time off work.
